![]() Dear my fellow world citizens, Remember when we were all excited for 2020 and all the possibilities it will bring us. Well, it doesn’t seem to be going that way at the moment, does it? I understand that there is a LOT of uncertainty, a lot of misinformation and a lot of misunderstandings. Somewhere along the way, there has been a breakdown in policy, procedures and communication. The press has been allowed to initiate a state of fear and as a result, the world, quite frankly, has gone insane. Panic has set in; people are buying in bulk from the stores and not taking into consideration their fellow neighbours needs. The Asian population has become subject to prejudice – even those who have NEVER even set foot in China. And anyone who has travelled has been made to feel incredibly guilty. I get it. This virus is very scary, and the information we receive is not clear, nor concise. We don’t know exact numbers, and we can’t say anything for sure. But during this trying time, we should be banding together. We should be taking into consideration actions that serve the greater good, like not hoarding all the hand sanitiser and toilet paper—or buying all the dried foods and cleaning products. We should be focusing on maintaining a high level of hygiene and taking care not to jeopardise those that are more prone to the fatal effects of Covid-19. I saw a great initiative circulate the internet that suggested buying gift cards or vouchers from your favourite businesses for you to use when this pandemic is over. That way, you will have something to look forward to, and that business can continue to generate revenue. I have decided to make that idea mine too, feel free contact me and know more about it! Does your favourite restaurant deliver? Maybe you can take this opportunity to order in and spend time with your loved ones. Likewise, postpone your trips rather than cancelling them. I understand your reluctance to travel but please get informed and put things into perspective. It is easy to give into fear, but we must focus on the good, we must remember what is important, and we must remember that we are all one community. I say goodbye to you, from my home in Oslo-Norway, forced to a 2 week quarantine because I spent a couple of days in Berlin, drinking a delicious Spanish wine (the name is just a coincidence) in my PJ's and trying to enjoy the forced vacation ;) A big hug from me and all the best, Jessica Meza follow me on Facebook @jessicamezabiz
